TYPES OF HAZARD/ EXPOSURE ACUTE HAZARDS/ SYMPTOMS PREVENTION FIRST AID/
FIRE FIGHTING
FIRE Flammable. Many reactions may cause fire or explosion. Gives off irritating or toxic fumes (or gases) in a fire.
NO open flames, NO sparks, and NO smoking.
Powder, alcohol-resistant foam, water spray, carbon dioxide.
EXPLOSION Above 24°C explosive vapour/air mixtures may be formed.
Above 24°C use a closed system, ventilation, and explosion-proof electrical equipment.
In case of fire: keep drums, etc., cool by spraying with water. Combat fire from a sheltered position.
EXPOSURE
AVOID ALL CONTACT! AVOID EXPOSURE OF (PREGNANT) WOMEN!
IN ALL CASES CONSULT A DOCTOR!
 •INHALATION Cough. Dizziness. Drowsiness. Headache. Nausea. Vomiting. Weakness.
Ventilation, local exhaust, or breathing protection.
Refer for medical attention.
 •SKIN
Protective gloves. Protective clothing.
Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse skin with plenty of water or shower.
 •EYES Redness. Pain.
Face shield or eye protection in combination with breathing protection.
First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
 •INGESTION (Further see Inhalation).
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work. Wash hands before eating.
Rinse mouth. Refer for medical attention.
SPILLAGE DISPOSAL STORAGE PACKAGING & LABELLING
Evacuate danger area in case of a large spillage! Consult an expert! Ventilation. Collect leaking and spilled liquid in sealable containers as far as possible. Absorb remaining liquid in sand or inert absorbent and remove to safe place. Do NOT wash away into sewer. Personal protection: self-contained breathing apparatus.
Fireproof. Separated from strong bases, strong acids, amines .

CHEMICAL DANGERS:
The substance decomposes on burning producing nitrogen oxides . Shock-sensitive compounds are formed with acids, amines, inorganic bases and heavy metal oxides. Reacts with activated carbon causing fire hazard. May be decomposed by the activated carbon in respirator filters.

TLV: 10 ppm; A3 (confirmed animal carcinogen with unknown relevance to humans); (ACGIH 2004).

ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of its vapour and by ingestion.

INHALATION RISK:
A harmful contamination of the air can be reached rather quickly on evaporation of this substance at 20°C.

EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
The vapour of this substance is irritating to the eyes and the respiratory tract . Exposure far above the OEL could cause liver damage. Exposure at high levels may result in death.

EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE:
The substance may have effects on the liver and nervous system , resulting in nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia and severe headache. This substance is possibly carcinogenic to humans. Animal tests show that this substance possibly causes toxic effects upon human reproduction.
