TYPES OF HAZARD/ EXPOSURE ACUTE HAZARDS/ SYMPTOMS PREVENTION FIRST AID/
FIRE FIGHTING
FIRE Not combustible. Liquid formulations containing organic solvents may be flammable. See Notes.

In case of fire in the surroundings: all extinguishing agents allowed.
EXPLOSION Risk of fire and explosion if formulations contain flammable/explosive solvents.

EXPOSURE
PREVENT DISPERSION OF DUST! STRICT HYGIENE! AVOID EXPOSURE OF ADOLESCENTS AND CHILDREN!
IN ALL CASES CONSULT A DOCTOR!
•INHALATION Sweating. Nausea. Vomiting. Dizziness. Pupillary constriction, muscle cramp, excessive salivation. Laboured breathing. Convulsions. Unconsciousness. Symptoms may be delayed (see Notes).
Local exhaust or breathing protection.
Fresh air, rest. Refer for medical attention.
•SKIN MAY BE ABSORBED! Muscle twitching. (See Inhalation).
Protective gloves. Protective clothing.
Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse and then wash skin with water and soap. Refer for medical attention.
•EYES Redness. Pain. Blurred vision. Pupillary constriction.
face shield, or eye protection in combination with breathing protection if powder.
First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
•INGESTION Nausea. Vomiting. Abdominal cramps. Diarrhoea. Pupillary constriction. Muscle cramps. Laboured breathing. Unconsciousness.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.
Induce vomiting (ONLY IN CONSCIOUS PERSONS!). Rest. Refer for medical attention.
SPILLAGE DISPOSAL STORAGE PACKAGING & LABELLING
Sweep spilled substance into containers; if appropriate, moisten first to prevent dusting. Carefully collect remainder, then remove to safe place. Do NOT let this chemical enter the environment. (Extra personal protection: complete protective clothing including self-contained breathing apparatus).
Separated from food and feedstuffs. Cool. Dry. Keep in the dark. Keep in a well-ventilated room.
Airtight. Do not transport with food and feedstuffs.
Severe marine pollutant.

PHYSICAL STATE; APPEARANCE:
SOLID IN VARIOUS FORMS

PHYSICAL DANGERS:

CHEMICAL DANGERS:
Upon heating, toxic fumes are formed.

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS:
TLV: 0.2 mg/m3 (as TWA) A4 (skin) (ACGIH 1997).
OSHA PEL: none
NIOSH REL: TWA 0.2 mg/m3 skin
NIOSH IDLH: No data

ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of its aerosol, through the skin and by ingestion.

INHALATION RISK:
Evaporation at 20°C is negligible; a harmful concentration of airborne particles can, however, be reached quickly on spraying and dust dispersion.

EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
The substance may cause effects on the nervous system , resulting in convulsion, respiratory failure, and death. Cholinesterase inhibitor. Exposure above the OEL may result in death. The effects may be delayed. Medical observation is indicated.

EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE:
The substance may have effects on the nervous system. Cholinesterase inhibitor; cumulative effect is possible: see acute hazards/symptoms.

ENVIRONMENTAL
DATA
The substance is very toxic to aquatic organisms. This substance may be hazardous to the environment; special attention should be given to bees.
N O T E S
Depending on the degree of exposure, periodic medical examination is indicated. The symptoms of acute intoxication do not become manifest until some hours have passed. Specific treatment is necessary in case of poisoning with this substance; the appropriate means with instructions must be available. Carrier solvents used in commercial formulations may change physical and toxicological properties. Do NOT take working clothes home. Metacide, Bladan-M, Folidol-M, Nitrox-80 are trade names.
