FIRE	Combustible. Many reactions may cause fire or explosion.	NO open flames.	Powder, water spray, foam, carbon dioxide.
EXPLOSION			Combat fire from a sheltered position.

EXPOSURE		STRICT HYGIENE!
•INHALATION	Blue lips or finger nails. Dizziness. Headache. Nausea. Vomiting. Weakness.	Local exhaust or breathing protection.	Fresh air, rest. Refer for medical attention.
•SKIN	MAY BE ABSORBED! (See Inhalation).	Protective gloves. Protective clothing.	First rinse with plenty of water, then remove contaminated clothes and rinse again. Rinse skin with plenty of water or shower. Refer for medical attention.
•EYES		Safety goggles, face shield, or eye protection in combination with breathing protection if powder.	First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
•INGESTION	(See Inhalation).		Rinse mouth. Induce vomiting (ONLY IN CONSCIOUS PERSONS!).

Sweep spilled substance into sealable containers; if appropriate, moisten first to prevent dusting. Carefully collect remainder, then remove to safe place. Do NOT absorb in saw-dust or other combustible absorbents. Do NOT let this chemical enter the environment. (Extra personal protection: complete protective clothing including self-contained breathing apparatus).

Separated from combustible and reducing substances, food and feedstuffs. Keep in a well-ventilated room.

Do not transport with food and feedstuffs.

The substance decomposes on heating producing toxic gases (nitrogen oxides, hydrogen chloride, phosgene and chlorine). The substance is a strong oxidant and reacts violently with combustible and reducing materials.

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS:
TLV: 0.1 ppm; 0.64 mg/m³ (as TWA) A3 (skin) (ACGIH 1997).
OSHA PEL: TWA 1 mg/m³ skin
NIOSH REL: Ca See Appendix A skin
NIOSH IDLH: Potential occupational carcinogen 100 mg/m³

ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation, through the skin and by ingestion.

INHALATION RISK:
Evaporation at 20°C is negligible; a harmful concentration of airborne particles can, however, be reached quickly.

EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
The substance may cause effects on the blood , resulting in formation of methaemoglobin. See Notes.

EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE:
Repeated or prolonged contact may cause skin sensitization.
