TYPES OF HAZARD/ EXPOSURE ACUTE HAZARDS/ SYMPTOMS PREVENTION FIRST AID/
FIRE FIGHTING
FIRE Not combustible. Gives off irritating or toxic fumes (or gases) in a fire.
NO contact with water.
NO water, foam, hydrous agents. In case of fire in the surroundings: dry powder, carbon dioxide dry sand .
EXPLOSION

EXPOSURE
AVOID ALL CONTACT!
IN ALL CASES CONSULT A DOCTOR!
•INHALATION Burning sensation. Cough. Laboured breathing. Shortness of breath. Sore throat.
Ventilation, local exhaust, or breathing protection.
Fresh air, rest. Half-upright position. Refer for medical attention.
 •SKIN Skin burns.
Protective gloves. Protective clothing.
Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse skin with plenty of water or shower. Refer for medical attention.
 •EYES Severe deep burns.
Face shield, or or eye protection in combination with breathing protection.
First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
•INGESTION Abdominal pain. Burning sensation. Shock or collapse.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.
Rinse mouth. Do NOT induce vomiting. Refer for medical attention.
SPILLAGE DISPOSAL STORAGE PACKAGING & LABELLING
Personal protection: P2 filter respirator for harmful particles and filter respirator for acid gases. Chemical protection suit. Sweep spilled substance into dry, sealable containers. Carefully collect remainder, then remove to safe place. Do NOT let this chemical enter the environment.
Separated from food and feedstuffs. Dry. Well closed. Store in an area without drain or sewer access.

PHYSICAL STATE; APPEARANCE:
COLOURLESS TO WHITE POWDER . TURNS GREY TO YELLOW ON EXPOSURE TO MOISTURE.

PHYSICAL DANGERS:

CHEMICAL DANGERS:
Reacts violently with water and moist air to produce hydrogen chloride (see ICSC0163) .

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS:
TLV: (as Al soluble salts) 2 mg/m³ as TWA; (ACGIH 2005).
Quick decomposition in moist air results hydrogen chloride exposure:
TLV: (for HCl) 2 ppm; (Ceiling value); (ACGIH 2005).
MAK not established.

ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:

INHALATION RISK:
A harmful concentration of airborne particles can be reached quickly when dispersed as well as a harmful concentration in the air by hydrogen chloride vapours.

EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
The substance is corrosive to the eyes, the skin and the respiratory tract. Corrosive on ingestion.

EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE:
PHYSICAL
