FIRE Combustible. Gives off irritating or toxic fumes (or gases) in a fire.
NO open flames.
Powder, AFFF, foam, carbon dioxide.

EXPOSURE
PREVENT GENERATION OF MISTS!

 •INHALATION Cough. Headache. Sore throat.
Ventilation, local exhaust, or breathing protection.
Fresh air, rest.
 •SKIN Redness. Pain.
Protective gloves.
Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse and then wash skin with water and soap.
 •EYES Redness. Pain.
Safety goggles, face shield.
First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
 •INGESTION Abdominal pain. Burning sensation. Sore throat.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.
Rinse mouth. Do NOT induce vomiting. Give plenty of water to drink. Refer for medical attention.
SPILLAGE DISPOSAL STORAGE PACKAGING & LABELLING
Collect leaking liquid in sealable containers. Cautiously neutralize spilled liquid. Then wash away with plenty of water. (Extra personal protection: filter respirator for organic gases and vapours).
Separated from strong oxidants, strong bases.

The substance decomposes on heating or on burning producing toxic and corrosive fumes including phosphoric acid. The substance is a medium strong acid. Reacts with strong oxidants. Attacks many metals forming flammable/explosive gas (hydrogen - see ICSC # 0001).

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS:
TLV: 1 ppm; 8.6 mg/m3 (as TWA); 2 ppm; 17 mg/m3 (STEL) (ACGIH 1997).
OSHA PEL: TWA 1 ppm (5 mg/m3)
NIOSH REL: TWA 1 ppm (5 mg/m3) ST 2 ppm (10 mg/m3)
NIOSH IDLH: 30 ppm


ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of its aerosol.

INHALATION RISK:
A harmful contamination of the air can be reached rather quickly on evaporation of this substance at 20°C.

The substance irritates the eyes, the skin and the respiratory tract.
